Position Overview
Our client is looking for an accounting professional who understands that construction accounts payable is much more than processing invoices. This role requires someone with a solid foundation in construction accounting who can manage vendor compliance, job costing, and payment processes while growing into broader accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate is looking for long-term career advancement and the opportunity to become a key member of the accounting leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
Process approximately 300 construction-related invoices per month.
Manage the full construction accounts payable process.
Review and maintain vendor compliance documentation, including Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and lien waivers.
Perform accurate job cost coding for construction projects.
Track and administer paid-when-paid payment requirements.
Maintain vendor relationships and ensure compliance with company policies.
Assist with month-end accounting processes as responsibilities expand.
Support construction accounting functions beyond transactional accounts payable.
Participate in the continued implementation and optimization of Procore.
Grow into additional accounting management responsibilities over time.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
2–5+ years of accounting experience.
Construction accounting experience is required.
Strong knowledge of:
Construction job cost accounting
Lien waivers
Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
Paid-when-paid payment processes
Vendor compliance
Construction accounts payable workflows
Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise is preferred.
Experience with Procore is a significant advantage.
Stable employment history.
