Quality Control Manager - Gainesville, GA
Job purpose
The quality control manager position develops, implements and manages the quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of all products (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals).
Duties and responsibilities
- Responsibility for the management of quality and quality improvements of assigned products that are being produced at the plant
- Project management responsibility for the engineers who are testing and evaluation of new products (models) for acceptance to mass production
- Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
- Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
- Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
- Special projects as requested and other tasks as needed
Essential Skills and Experience
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, material science, etc.
- Experience in Quality Control Engineering required
- Must be familiar with reading and understanding mechanical drawings with some understanding of electrical schematics
- Good technical writing skills
- Basic Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) skills
- Strong communications skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask
- English language competency and legible writing ability
- Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work with little to no oversight
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Must be able to set priorities and manage multiple projects
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Computer skills including Windows based programs, Microcadam Helix, Catia V5, and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, vehicle systems, hydraulics, electronics, power transmission systems, braking systems, gasoline and diesel engines with related systems
- Organizational and motivational skills
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Highly responsible
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to use electronic test and measurement tools
- Good mechanical drawing skills, and other general office skills
- Ability to work safe with a wide variety of tools and working conditions
- Good problem solving and decision making skills
