Tax Senior Manager - Virginia Beach, VA
Who: An accomplished CPA with at least seven years of public accounting experience and two or more years in a managerial role.
What: Leads complex tax compliance and planning engagements, manages high-net-worth and partnership clients, oversees staff development, and serves as the primary client contact while identifying tax issues and planning opportunities.
When: Full-time hybrid position available immediately.
Where: Virginia Beach, Virginia, with 2–3 days per week in office.

Position Overview:
The Senior Tax Manager oversees tax compliance and advisory services for middle-market clients across industries such as manufacturing, real estate, construction, and professional services. This role includes reviewing complex individual and partnership returns, providing estate, gift, and trust planning support, leading teams at all levels, and managing client relationships with a focus on technical excellence and superior service. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong technical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review complex individual, partnership, C-Corp, S-Corp, and LLC tax engagements.
- Support high-net-worth clients with estate, gift, and trust tax planning and compliance.
- Identify tax issues, business risks, and planning opportunities for diverse client groups.
- Lead, mentor, and develop tax staff, seniors, and managers.
- Communicate effectively with clients while overseeing workflows, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Utilize strong project management and analytical skills to ensure exceptional engagement execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred).
- Active CPA license required.
- Minimum 7 years of public accounting experience with 2+ years in management.
- Strong background in C and S corporations, partnerships, and LLC taxation.
- Experience with pass-through entity taxation required.
- Preferred experience includes entity structuring, operating agreement review, allocations, partner transactions, and partnership compliance.
- Experience with complex individual, estate, and gift tax planning is a plus.
- Strong understanding of client industries and operations.
