Position Overview:
The Senior Tax Manager oversees complex tax engagements, ensures the highest level of technical accuracy, develops and leads staff, maintains strong client relationships, and supports firmwide growth initiatives through exceptional service delivery and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide final technical review on tax returns and related documents.
- Research complex tax issues and prepare well-supported recommendations.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and accounting procedures.
- Plan, schedule, and manage client engagements to ensure timely completion.
- Communicate directly with clients to ensure their needs and best interests are prioritized.
- Lead, support, and mentor staff by setting objectives, managing budgets, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Monitor quality control and evaluate staff performance.
- Assign, track, and manage tasks and projects delegated to staff and supervisors.
- Take an active role in developing staff and supervisors.
- Build and nurture internal and external networks to develop new business opportunities.
- Oversee billing, collections, WIP monitoring, aging, and write-downs.
- Participate in and help facilitate in-house CPE and training programs.
Qualifications:
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum of ten years of public accounting experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with strong decision-making skills.
- Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize a heavy workload.
