AR/Physician Billing - Atlanta, GA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Physician Billing Staff Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing physician billing and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing processes, accounting principles, and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Physician Billing:

    • Accurately prepare and submit physician bills to insurance companies and patients.
    • Verify and ensure completeness and accuracy of billing information.
    • Follow up on unpaid claims and work with insurance companies to resolve billing issues.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare monthly financial statements related to physician billing.
    • Reconcile billing statements and identify discrepancies.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Account Reconciliation:

    • Reconcile accounts receivable balances.
    • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
    • Maintain accurate records of all billing transactions.
  • Compliance and Auditing:

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding medical billing.
    • Assist with internal and external audits related to billing and accounting.
  • Customer Service:

    • Respond to billing inquiries from physicians, patients, and insurance companies.
    • Provide excellent customer service and resolve billing issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in physician billing and accounting.
    • Strong knowledge of medical billing codes, insurance procedures, and regulations.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
