Who: A CPA with at least five years of public accounting experience and strong technical expertise in trust and estate taxation.
What: Performs final technical reviews of trust and estate income tax returns while leading engagements, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with evolving tax laws.

Position Overview:
The Tax Manager – Trusts & Estates oversees the preparation and review of complex trust and estate income tax returns, manages staff and workflow, researches advanced tax matters, and supports exceptional client service while maintaining strict confidentiality and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide final technical review of 1041 trust and estate income tax returns.
- Research complex tax issues and develop practical recommendations.
- Stay current on changes in tax laws and accounting procedures.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage client engagements to meet all deadlines.
- Communicate directly with clients to ensure their best interests are served.
- Support and guide staff and supervisors by setting expectations, providing resources, and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Monitor work quality and personnel performance.
- Assign, track, and manage tasks and projects delegated to staff and supervisors.
- Mentor and develop team members to support continued growth.
- Build and maintain internal and external networks to assist in business development.
- Oversee billing, collections, WIP monitoring, aging, and write-downs.
- Participate in internal CPE programs and training initiatives.
Qualifications:
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum of five years of public accounting experience.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Strong decision-making skills with initiative.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage a heavy workload.
