Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides executive financial leadership for the credit union, overseeing accounting, asset-liability management, budgeting, reporting, investments, risk, compliance, and audits. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, guiding long-term financial strategy, innovation, and investment decisions while maintaining regulatory compliance. This role also liaises with auditors and examiners and ensures accurate financial reporting to support the credit union’s mission of improving members’ financial lives.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all financial and accounting functions for the credit union
Lead asset-liability management, budgeting, financial reporting, and investments
Provide risk management oversight, including audit, compliance, and vendor management
Ensure accurate financial records, reporting, and regulatory compliance
Serve as liaison with auditors and regulatory examiners
Guide financial strategy and investment decisions in alignment with organizational goals
Drive innovation in financial operations and operational efficiencies
Support a world-class member experience through financial leadership
Provide strategic guidance to the Executive Leadership Team on financial matters
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline required
Advanced degree or CPA preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience
Prior experience in credit union or financial services highly preferred
Strong strategic, analytical, and leadership skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to manage complex financial operations and regulatory compliance
