Position Overview:
We are seeking a Tax Senior Accountant who will work directly with clients to understand their businesses while overseeing tax compliance, projections, notice responses, and special projects. This role includes mentoring staff, managing workflow expectations, and applying advanced tax knowledge to support both clients and the firm.
Essential Functions:
● Uphold professional ethics and maintain strict client confidentiality.
● Demonstrate commitment to high-quality service and personal attention.
● Assist with routine audits, inquiries, and notices from federal and state agencies.
● Maintain frequent client communication to provide updates and answer questions.
● Request necessary information from clients and supervisors for tax filings.
● Meet annual chargeable hour goals (1,700 hours) and interim benchmarks.
● Maintain CPA eligibility and progress toward exam completion.
● Serve as a mentor and role model for tax staff.
● Identify tax issues and collaborate with partners, team members, and firm specialists on solutions.
● Prepare or supervise preparation of tax accrual workpapers.
● Prepare complex tax returns for review and address all review notes thoroughly.
● Monitor tax law developments and assess relevance to clients.
● Assist with creating and delivering internal training sessions.
Position Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
● CPA license strongly preferred.
● Two to five years of public accounting experience preferred.
● Strong understanding of basic accounting procedures and GAAP.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to multitask.
● Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment.
