Job Description:
The Assistant Manager – Freight Forwarding Accounting oversees financial reporting, compliance, and performance analysis across freight forwarding, inland trucking, trading, and related operations while supporting leadership with accurate insights and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the month-end closing process ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Ensure compliance with SOX, GAAP, IFRS, and corporate internal controls.
Supervise financial transaction monitoring across multiple business segments.
Review accrual aging, segmented P&L reports, and detailed financial summaries.
Perform revenue, cost, and margin forecasting to support planning.
Consolidate and reconcile financial data across reporting entities and systems.
Maintain financial master data integrity and reporting consistency.
Develop dashboards and financial presentations using Excel and BI tools.
Deliver ad-hoc reporting and analysis to senior management and auditors.
Identify and implement financial process and reporting improvements.
Monitor KPIs aligned with strategic and operational goals.
Oversee accrual testing and validation during month-end close.
Evaluate profitability of new business ventures and margin performance.
Support strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
6–9+ years of accounting experience; supervisory experience required.
Strong knowledge of SOX, GAAP, and IFRS standards.
Proficiency in Excel required; SAP experience preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a structured corporate environment.
