Assistant Controller – Cumming, GA

What: Seeking an Assistant Controller to support the CFO and oversee day-to-day accounting operations.

When: Hiring before the end of the year for a full-time position.

Salary: $130k–$150k plus bonus, with excellent benefits.

Position Overview:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Controller to manage daily accounting operations, support the CFO in financial strategy, and ensure strong internal controls across multiple construction projects. This is a hands-on leadership role with room for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

● Oversee general accounting, job costing, and billing functions

● Lead month-end close and prepare financial statements

● Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

● Supervise AP, AR, and payroll operations

● Ensure compliance with GAAP, sales tax, and industry regulations

● Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking

● Optimize use of financial and construction management software

Qualifications:

● 5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry

● Experience in a senior accountant or assistant controller capacity

● Proficient in Foundation Software, Sage 300/Timberline, or similar ERP

● Familiar with Procore or comparable project management tools

● Deep understanding of job costing and AIA billing

● Strong leadership and communication skills

● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
