Job Summary:
The Facility CFO is a critical member of the senior leadership team responsible for the overall fiscal management and strategic financial planning of the hospital. This role oversees all accounting operations, revenue cycle management, budgeting, capital planning, compliance, and internal controls. The CFO collaborates with the CEO and leadership team to drive operational excellence, support strategic initiatives, and optimize the financial performance of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate, timely completion of monthly financial statements and reconciliations
Prepare corporate reports, forecasts, and disclosures on schedule
Maintain internal controls and policies to support clean audits and regulatory compliance
Direct Revenue Cycle operations to optimize AR collection, reduce bad debt, and ensure uncompensated care is minimized
Supervise Accounting, Patient Accounting, Health Information Management, Materials Management, and other assigned departments
Ensure staffing, training, and operational efficiency across departments
Manage supply costs in compliance with budget and Group Purchasing agreements
Lead annual operating and capital budgets; monitor variances and recommend corrective actions
Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and managed care reimbursement methodologies
Prepare and approve Capital Equipment Requests and ensure proper asset depreciation
Provide financial analysis and strategic guidance to the CEO and leadership team
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business with an Accounting focus
3+ years as a CFO or senior finance leader in healthcare (behavioral health experience preferred)
Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
Proficiency with Excel, Word, and finance-related software
Leadership and team management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and ethical judgment
Preferred:
CPA or Master’s degree
Experience with proprietary healthcare systems
Deep understanding of behavioral healthcare finance
