Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain timely, useful financial charts/reports to support analysis and decision making
- Participate in month-end closing procedures; draft/record journal entries, review account activity
- Perform Variance Analysis
- Prepare month-end account reconciliations, proactively rectifying unreconciled transactions
- Evaluate procurement, labor, and production costs across operational facilities and terminals
- Prepare and manage customer price sheet processing
- Analyze logistics costs and analyze monthly trends
- Sales, margin, and expense analysis and reporting
- Gather and consolidate data from key stakeholders globally for weekly metric reporting
- Maintain KPC Global Strategic Initiatives Tracker
- Participate in the annual budget and quarterly financial forecasting processes
- Provide audit deliverables and communicate with the internal and external audit teams
- Perform various financial controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
- Identify improvements, make recommendations and promote new ideas
- Must promote cross-training within the department and be willing to help coworkers during absences and high-volume events
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline; CPA or path to becoming a CPA preferred
- 3-7 years of experience with a public firm or private industrial company; manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley internal accounting control procedures and processes
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), report writing applications, data extraction/consolidation experience and prior exposure to an ERP system
- Inventory and manufacturing cost accounting knowledge preferred
- Carries out routine duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision. Makes decisions and establishes work priorities on essentially procedure-oriented operations.
- Must communicate effectively by listening, writing, and speaking clearly and accurately and keeping the team and management informed
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications
- Must possess the ability to work independently and be a self-starter
- Some travel required (10 percent or less)
- Must be able to work non-standard hours during peak periods
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills
