Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to manage and perform the organization’s daily accounting operations while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records. Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will supervise one A/P associate and play an important role in financial reporting, accounting controls, compliance, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.

  • Complete general ledger administration and prepare journal entries.

  • Perform month-end and year-end closing activities and provide audit support.

  • Complete account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.

  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly sales and use tax filings across multiple states.

  • Assist with financial reporting and cash flow management.

  • Maintain fixed asset accounting and related records.

  • Administer lease tracking, accounting, and reconciliations.

  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax accountants, and regulatory agencies as needed.

  • Maintain organized financial records and strong internal controls.

  • Identify and implement improvements to internal accounting procedures.

  • Supervise and support accounting staff while effectively delegating daily responsibilities.

  • Serve as a payroll backup for HR when necessary.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred.

  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end/year-end close processes.

  • Sales and use tax experience preferred.

  • Project, construction, or manufacturing accounting experience preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with others.

  • Self-starter with a positive, proactive approach.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Access.

  • Experience working with ERP software.
