Position Overview:
The Senior Associate (Audit & Tax) will supervise audit engagements, prepare and review tax filings, conduct technical research, manage client communication, and support consulting projects while helping develop junior staff and contributing to business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise audit engagements across multiple industries.
- Develop and execute audit programs by defining objectives, identifying risks, evaluating controls, and designing testing procedures.
- Perform technical accounting research on diverse accounting topics.
- Prepare and review Federal and state corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.
- Assist with preparation and review of ASC 740 tax provisions.
- Conduct tax consulting projects, including permanent establishment analyses and nexus studies.
- Stay current on tax law changes and perform in-depth research as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients and respond to tax-related inquiries.
- Manage multiple engagements with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Maintain active communication to manage timelines and client expectations.
- Delegate work effectively and support staff development through training and feedback.
- Collaborate with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience, preferably in public accounting.
- BA/BS in Accounting or Master’s in Accounting/Taxation.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-oriented mindset.
- Solid organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience working on both audit and tax engagements.
- CPA license or similar certification (preferred).
- German language skills helpful but not required.
- Experience with manufacturing and distribution clients.
- ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Axcess experience.
