A growing construction organization is seeking an experienced Controller with a strong background in job costing and financial management within the construction industry.

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control related to foundation and construction projects.

This is an immediate hire for a full-time, permanent position.

The role is based in Union City, with work tied to an active foundation construction project.

This role operates in a hybrid environment with time split between the office and project sites.
Salary:
Competitive salary ranging from $110,000 to $140,000 plus bonus and benefits.
Position Overview:
The Controller will play a critical role in managing financial health, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making across construction projects.
● Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all accounting functions including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger
Manage job costing, WIP reporting, and project financial tracking
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
Collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets and forecast costs
Lead audits and coordinate with external accounting partners
Develop and improve financial processes and reporting systems
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting experience in construction or related industry
Strong knowledge of job costing and percentage-of-completion accounting
Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Foundation) preferred
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills
