Staff Accountant

Location: REMOTE

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks and should be proficient in general accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Analyze financial data and reports for accuracy, consistency, and variances from budgets.

  2. General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.

  3. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, and managing collections.

  4. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and in monitoring financial performance against these.

  5. Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.

  6. Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

  7. Financial Systems and Process Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of financial systems and processes. Experience with NetSuite is a plus, as it will be instrumental in streamlining our financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a staff accountant or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel. Experience with NetSuite is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Sharp time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
